Camp Anew is a safe place for kids to take the next step in their grief journey. During their four-day stay, campers are given numerous opportunities to have fun, grieve, connect with others, and, most importantly, be reminded that God still loves them. The butterfly is used as a symbol of how life can begin anew.
Camp Anew makes its home at Grace Adventures on Upper Silver Lake in Hart, MI. Minutes from Lake Michigan, this campus provides many choices for all-day fun. Highlights include tubing on the lake, the “Blob”, horseback riding, wall climbing, a zip line, and fishing.
We recognize the cool kids that come to camp are all different. To best meet the needs of all our campers, Camp Anew has two age-leveled programs. Our Hilltop Camp focuses on kids, ages 6-12. Our Teen Camp runs for those ages 13-17.
Campers gather at the Hilltop each morning to begin the day. Here they sing and follow the Bible story of Joseph, a boy who faced many difficulties in his own life. Each day continues with activities and discussions dedicated to sharing stories, identifying feelings, cherishing memories, and looking towards to a new tomorrow.
A relaxed environment encourages campers to begin a journey of hope as they connect in small groups and help each other along the way. The Biblical account of Joseph is studied in discussion format throughout the week. Teens participate in activities designed to preserve memories, deal with guilt and shame, and look toward a future filled with hope.
